Jobs for college students need to be near your college so you don’t have to travel very far and that makes it harder. Many students don’t have cars and having to take a bus to work makes things much harder. Ideally it is best to find a job that is near the university and within walking distance.

Additionally, many workers who might not have been interested a year or so ago in the jobs that college students take, now will gladly take any job. Whether things will get better anytime soon is something that no one really knows. Although some people think that things are slowly starting to turn around, anyone in the job hunt probably would disagree. A lot has to happen before business gets better and companies start hiring again. This Christmas will be an indicator of what is to come and we will see how much spending takes place and if the shopping season is better than last year’s.

Keeping your eyes and ears open for job possibilities and making as many friends and contacts as you can is the best way to go about finding work. Being recommended by a friend is one of your best chance of landing a job so make sure you talk to everyone you know and make sure they know that you are looking for work.
