If you are a soon to be college graduate, you might be interested in finding a government job. With the Democrats in control of the White House and both branches of government, it is clear that the expansion of state and local jobs are in full force.

Jobs for college graduates this year are going to be very difficult to come by and the only place where you can be sure they are expanding and hiring more than ever is the government. Now, whether you believe that the expansion of government is a good thing or not, it is clear that President Obama is spending money like he is printing it himself. He believes, and the bureaucrats in Washington do too, that government can fix all our problems and is the answer to everything.

This means that if there ever were a good time to secure a government job, now is that time. When you get a job or position with a state or national government agency, you can be sure you will be getting good health care and good retirement benefits. After all, it is widely known that the government takes care of its own workers and it is even hard to get fired from any type of job.

If you are looking for government jobs online for recent graduates, make sure you go to the right websites. Official government websites will usually end in .GOV and not in .com so be careful of that. When you do a Google search, you will find all sorts of websites on the first page but if you are interested in finding official government job information, make sure it is a .GOV. You might try USA.Gov or USAJobs.Gov first.

Jobs for college students can of course be anything and many decide to take government work as a career. While it won’t necessarily pay too well, the benefits are what keep many coming back year after year. If you have ever considered a state job or one in Washington, this may just be the right time to go after one!
